Good price?
Quoted $800 for a cat back stainless system. Parts, labor, O2 bungs, and stainless cherry bomb muffler in 2.5”. Does that seem like a decent price?

Back in the day cat back did not include the cat(s), so muffler/tailpipe/gaskets/maybe donuts and also bolts.
5vzfe 3.4...
304 or 409 stainless? Certain brand?

It’s 304 stainless. I had a system on my ‘94 pick up, sadly inflation has made this run a lot pricier, and never had issues even in Pennsylvania brine.

I guess I’m having a bit of sticker shock. Young old guy in me thinks it should be half that price.

Borla 304 was something like $540ish parts only when I priced it out last year and supposedly can last 10 years (have no evidence anecdotal or otherwise)
Walker aluminized steel was something like $175 w/sound fx muffler parts only BUT I expect to replace it every 3-4 years. Price-wise if it hits 4+ years per system it's potentially the better deal given I am the labor part.
Both of those systems are plug n play-ish, though I saw reviews that said the Borla tail was straight rather than turned to the side.
Given the cost of the Borla non-custom exhaust vs the Never-Rust complete and installed if the warranty is solid maybe the deal isn't too painful?
Have to agree with Wyoming9, not a noise person either, but to each their own.
Young old woman knows exactly what young old guy means!
