Glad I bought a Winch
For the first time since I have owned (over 2 years) my '95 4Runner I got it stuck
I was running around on a friends property around 3am w/ him in his G Wagon & one other guy in a jacked up Blazer. Well we decided to cross at a new spot along one of the creeks on his property. There was only a trickle of water running through it at the time & it looked like it would be fun. The Blazer went first & he made it but w/ a little difficulty on the climb up the hill on his way out. I went next but didn't realize just how deep of a rut he had left & how soft the creek bottom was. When I was about 3 feet from the opposite bank the front end sank
I ended up w/ over 1/2 of the front wheels buried in the mud & was touching the bottom of my ARB to the creek bottom on the left side.
After trying a few things to get free there was no other choice but to use my new WARN M8000 for the first time. Fortunately for me I had just installed it 2 weekends ago & I am thankful that I did.
I am also very thankful that I got a set of the Stubbs sliders. I was able to climb on them to get to the front & back of my rig w/o getting in the mud.
I did manage to cross the creek only after my friend w/ the G Wagon went through the creek ruts & all w/o any trouble. After seeing what he was able to do I now want lockers. Will this to do list ever end???

i know what you mean,
i was wheelin my favorite spot for weeks when it rained like hell
for about a week, i went thru the same spot as usual
& sunk.
nobody around to help: thank god my winch worked.
i test it every now & then to make sure i'll be safe
the next time i need it
