After much research and emails to DOA Racing, Tim has convinced me to bite the bullet and get a full 2.5" exhaust system done with free flowing cat. He says that even a stock V6 would benifit both low end and top end from the 2.5 and especially mine since he has ported and polished the heads and reground the cams. It needs a new muffler anyway, and I have just got my Dynomax muffler from summit. I got the 2.5" model just in case I went with 2.5" tubeing. So theres a place in town that will do it, including a carsound cat for around $280.00 Thats 14g aluminized from the exhaust manifold Y pipe down to the carsound cat, over to the Dynomax muffler and out the tailpipe. Im going to reuse the O2 sensor. Any reason not to?? I talked to one shop and they quoted between $200.00 and $250.00, but I had the last muffler and tail pipe done by them and I really did not like their bussiness. Also, that shop has changed names twice and locations twice. They might be fine, but the other shop where Im going to take it has been in this town almost 40 years. I figure that says something. Ive driven the 4 runner now with the stock exhaust and cat with the 2.25" dynomax catback now so I will have something to judge by. If I dont like the feel of the 2.5"exhaust, would putting a smaller tailpipe on it make it feel more like it is now or does it work that way? Later yall. Wish me luck.
