it doesnt matter what brand around here anymore. you can pay 2.29 for generic ass gas that made my old nova diesal really bad or you can get 76 brand out near my work in dublin for cheaper. and dublin is a more expensive area too.

It's $1.95-1.99 on the west side of El Paso. It was bound to go up. He who shall not be named needs it to go up to rally public support to drill in AK. Quite a coincidence that congress passed a vote to make it easier to drill in ANWR the same week the price per barrel hit a new all time high.

By the way guys, worldwide useage is almost equal to production. And about 5 years ago, a key figure in the oil business was predicting that world oil production would peak in 2010.

So don't buy an H2!

$2.19 for reg and $2.26 for mid at Shell station. I have to run the mid grade (87 octane) otherwise the engine knocks like crazy, plus it seems to run better on shell gas than any of the others. Can't wait to get back to GA where its cheaper...1 week to go!!!!!!

yup yup and a big yup gwhayduke...Government needs to open the strategic reserves if demand is really the problem. Last time that was done and only a little was let out the price dropped drastically and immediately. Oil is a volatile market driven on emotion. It seems that the chinese iindustrialization is being blamed for part of this hike. Funny thing though, usually it takes 120 days for gas to rise after sweet crude has risen (time it takes to refine it)....This time the jump was immediate...One antitrust attoney went through the contracts the companies carry and say...i can easily see immediate collusion in these contracts and i haven't even read them all yet. Screwing I say. hehehhee

The station I filled the '99 up at yesterday ($1.95) was $1.97 today when I filled the '95. Prices are still cheap for us considering what the rest of the world pays. Does kinda remind you of CA and the electricity gouge a few summers back. Is ENRON really dead?

And I'm still glad I don't own an H2 (or an Expedition)!

shell gas is more expensive because it is purer than the rest. when they refine and produce gasoline, they rate its level of purity, and also they enforce a minimum level of purity, and let's say it takes a 70% to be legally sold on the market. your on the gos and racetracs (and other such cheap gas places can peddle gas forcheaper) can sell 10-20c cheaper than everyone because their gas is refined to maybe 70%, if that. your chevrons, exxons, and texacos are all at about 75-85% refined. and shell is refined 90-95%, hence the reason it makes your wallet so much lighter.

and its about $1.96 for regular in richardson in some places.

Shell and Chevron are the same price here. Not to knock anyone but my experiences with shell have been pretty bad...Water in the gas, frozen in tank and fuel lines. Most likely just the station though.
Back on topic I saw 2.24 today at chevron/shell

Sure has all the earmarks of ENRON. Here's a site for all the LA people:

http://www.losangelesgasprices.com/

I wouldn't doubt if the prices were a little old though at times.
