Go with the panhard drop from Sonoran Steel...it's about $75 + S/H. The cheapest route to go with shocks is using OEM LC Tokico's. They're about $55 a pair + S/H from toyotapartssales.com. Good luck man and welcome to the LC club!

Keep in mind that if you don't have the "fixes" from Steves kit you will over compress the LC shocks. The LC shocks are about 3.5 inchs longer than stock and about 2.5" longer than N86 OME shocks.

Is there anybody running LC shocks with out the "fixes" and no problems?

From my understanding several people don't have all of that. I am going to fab up a panhard drop bracket get some extended brake lines along with an e brake relocation kit and go to Tellico. We will see what happens.

Keep me updated, cuz I am looking into doing the LC coils and shocks in the back but dont want to spend the extra money for the fixes, which are:

Daystar Bumpstops and adapters: $150.00
Adjustable Trac/Panhard Bar: $175.00
Sway Bar adjustment kit: $40.00
3.5" longer rear brake line: $30.00
Emergency Brake Bracket: $15.00
Adapter discs for the 80 shocks on a 4Runner: $5.00

So the only things youd be missing are the Sway Bar Adjustment kit and the daystar bumpstops and adapters.

Emptypockets,

what are the part numbers for the LC coils that you bought and how many wraps do they have?

Thanks.

KZN - Go to www.ih8mud.com and see if you can get a set one 95 coils. One has 7.5 wraps, the other has 7.75. Double Purple, White and Grey and Orange White Grey? Something with Orange; just be sure they are off a 95.

I got my set off there for $25 shipped. Mine have settled to 3.5".

GET THEM USED!

PS- Post in the Wanted section..I got about 7 replies.

If you can find them used, all the better. But it's really tough to find the right coils for our Runners. The new ones I got were: 48131-6A570 (passenger side: double purple, grey, white) and 48131-6A480 (driver side: green, orange, white). Good luck and PM me if you need anything else!

Thank you for the help on the numbers. I presume those are for the shorter 7-wrap coils?

I live in the Philippines so the only option for me is to get new ones from the dealer. It would be difficult to track down the specific coil.

The numbers I mentioned are for the shorter 7 wrap coils. If you get them new, they'll lift the rear at least 4" at first, but will sag out to around 3.75" over time. If you give those numbers to the dealer, they will be able to get them for you.

Bringing this back to life.

I have a set of LC coils that I want to try. One is a 19.5" Purple Green White 8 wraps
and a 19" Double Pink Light Blue White 7.5 wraps. I assume that the 8 wrap goes on the drivers side.

What are people using for shocks? (part numbers and lengths)

Yeah, longer one goes on the drivers side, but, I don't remember them having that big of a height difference. I think you'll be fine though...

I am using the OME N71E shocks, which are for the FJ80's. I can't remember if they are for front or rear for the 80's. I bought from Slee offroad.

I believe you can still use 4runner length shocks, but I felt it was the limiting factor in suspension droop.

BajaRunner, It doesn't sound like I'll need the LC shocks since I wont have as much lift as you.

CYi5, Thanks for the clarification on the coils.

I am running the 60004 old man emu sport firm shocks and it seems to flex pretty good! A heavier rear bumper might be in order soon after the coils go on.

This thread has been up for years! literally...

Anyway, I want to do a lift with this same approach. I have a 99 highlander edition (Sport). I'm not sure if they have the taller coils because the rear looks saggy to me.
I just went outside and measured some stuff:

FRONT: Ground to fender clearance = 35.5 inches
Top of tire to fender clearance = 6 inches
REAR: Ground to fender clearance = 35.5 inches
Top of tire to fender clearance = 5.5 inches

I'm a broke college student trying to put together a budget lift. I have access to some LC coils in some landcruiser specialty shops. I don't know which one to exactly go for, and I'm not sure what to use for the front to even out the 4runner. I don't like the rake look. I don't do any extreme wheeling but I don't want to settle for spacers either. Also, alot of the pictures on this thread aren't showing up so I was wondering if you guys can post some pics of a 4runner with an LC coil lift and preferably tundra coils up front. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys. THANKS!!

It is probably the Tundra coils AND the LC coils that is causing the crickets.

The LC coils will leave you raked unless you have weight in the rear. In my case (1997 4Runner) some plywood deck storage drawers leveled things out very nicely to a slight rake.

If you had the option of doing both longside, both shortside, or just a stock set of coils, what would people recommend? Can't seem to find a good comparison of this... Looking for a solid 3.5" hopefully more like 4-4.5"
