Front Transfer Case Seal

Front Transfer Case Seal
I have found that the seal for the front drive shaft flange is leaking on my 97 4runner (automatic). Can you change the seal without removing the transfer case? Also, it looks like a puller is needed for removing the companion flange, but I'm not sure.
