Fresh 4th Gen Road Test
From Edmunds.com. Their summary:
"Mulling over our week with the 4Runner, we were struck by how Toyota nearly always hits the nail on the head when revamping one of its vehicles. With the 2003 4Runner, the company has done it again by providing a level of ride comfort and on-road handling that rivals most car-based "soft-roaders," while also enhancing its already renowned off-road skills."

" And why did Toyota put the fuel door release at the bottom of the dash, next to the hood release and the driver's left knee? The traditional placement next to the driver seat worked fine."
In both my 92 and my 2000, the fuel door release is by my left knee...did I read this wrong? I know that some of the Camrys, etc., have the fuel door release button on the floor next to the drivers seat...is that what they're referring to? I think the 4Runner has always been the same...

Hi,
The problem is that the hood release and the fuel door latch are right next to each other. I can't tell you how many times I opened the hood instead of the fuel door.
