finally changed the gear oil
if you dont like the way i type thats too bad lol..... im pretty sure the gear oil had 149k on it i bought 6qts of red line 75w-90 for $47 dollars used it in the rear diff the x-fer and the front diff well i havint done the front yet still trying to find a 12mm hex bit and 2qts of mt-90 for the tranny cost was $32 as i had to order it from jegs its a pretty simple job didint take that long it seems gas mileage has gone up a little tranny shifts great not so notchy in the morning and the x-fer shifts into 4wd easier ok on to the pics click on them to make them bigger

After seeing fluid like that come out of the rear diff i would off put in dino 75-90 grear oil for 100-200 mi. This would help flush out all of the metal from the gear break in. I bet it is find

well after 149k miles it should be fine now plus there where no metal shavings on the drain plug hmm i wonder what color the front diff is going to be should find out this week

so that was factory oil from the transmission and transfer case? looked pretty good from here. thats a bit long to run the rear diff in my book. i'm sure it works tho, these trucks are indestructible.

lol i dont no where to put the . or the , o and the front diff is getting changed this week i had my mom pick up a 12mm hex well all they had was a 12mm a 14mm and 17mm hex set for $10 bucks at autozone while she was out of town

Are you sure you need a 12mm for the front diff,mine takes a 10mm.

1996-1998, the front diff plugs use a 10mm and 12mm for the drain and fill plugs, For 1999-2002, the drain and fill plugs are both 10mm

i got the fill bolt off and tried the drain man that thing is on there tight i tried for 5mins i gave up as i didint wanna break something
