- I've seen the shackle mod, looks good, but for actually recovering a vehicle with an ARB bullbar wouldn't you make use of the holes lower down in the bullbar, ie: closer to the chassis/stronger?

I don't know.
Every time I have seen someone use the shackles there, it is for doubling the line back only for when you use a snatch block.

That's the only reason I have those there for is to double back the line.

Or if someone needs to hook their winch line to me to pull me out, or to attach a yank strap to me.
