exhaust for a 94 4R 3.0
My exhaust is gone... water+air+metal = RUST... so the rust has gotten the best of mine. Also my cat is gone, it ran away... so I am replacing that.
I was searching Autozone for an exhaust kit. I found 2.
Arvin - never heard of them, not interested...
Bosal - $86 for an exhaust system (muffler, tailpipe with a rear silencer/resonator).
Cat.
Arvin - $80
Bosal - $280 (WOW)
Does anyone have the Bosal exhaust kit? how does it sound?
Exhausts, No Cat:
Jaradine - 2.25" - $225
LC Engineering - 2.25" - $315 (p/n: 1042009)
Downey - 2.5" - $231
Cats:
Free Flow Cat from Prefromance Product - $120
LC Engineering - 2.25" - $150
All in one:
Downey - 2.5" - $341
Local Guy - cat + muffle + pipe + some custom fit + new hangers welded to frame = $400-500...
Borla - $480 ish (WAY TO EXPENSIVE)
HKS and JBA $500+ (if Borla is expensive.. then these are to)
ENGINE MODS - K&N FIPK
So which set-up of all the parts I listed would you get?loudness does NOT bother me. (plug - My old '95 Ford Probe GT had one straight pipe 2.5", headers NO Cat or Muffler)

Borla
I got my Borla for like $300 7 years ago, not one issue with it, I would be on at least my 2nd full system had I gone with the Bosal, they rot out in about 3 years and are not really that tough for off roading in that the welds and all are just not good. I know this because my Miata has a Bosal muffler on it now and it has been welded in 2 places, 1 right where the pipe goes into the muffler and the other one on a seam on the muffler and its only 2 years old. I say save your $ and buy a stainless kit no matter what brand it is. My Borla sounds good and has held up GREAT, I will be buying one for my car in a few months. just my .02

I'd advise 2" at most if you do a lot of highway driving. I do not like my 2.25" exhaust.
Dont even think about 3". That will actually generate more back pressure to the engine than the 2.5/2.25. My mom's turbo-charged, diesel, v-8, big block has 3" stock pipes....(soon to be 4" however! )
