LOL well hopefully they did not put the 4Runner on the bottom because it could not make it up the ramps
Kidding of course, they put the 4Runner below because they did not want any damage done to it like stones and whatnot off the road. LOL
That is a pretty cool pic, I would love to see the results of the testing.
Good post!

I've known for 20 years from back in middle school that Toyota trucks were something unique and I never owned one til 6 months ago but I've had alot of experience around and in them (my GF drove a new '94 PU and my mom has a '99 Limited Runner) to know if I ever went with an SUV it would be a 4Runner.
My view on the new H3: "Oh great, that's all we need is another SUV people will slap "24s on and never go offroad"

Well, let's remember to put it in context...
After all, the 'H' does stand for Hubris.
But seriously, that is an H3? It looks like they took and old Pathfinder and just slapped a new gate on it.
Hell, I'd take one for free... just to pull the tires off of it.

Hey, i know everyone is going to have their own opinions, but I have seen a couple H3's in person and they are sick. Dont get me wrong, I love my 4th gen, but the goal all along has been to give it the ground clearance, approach and departure angles, and tires sized similarly to the new H3. For $35g's it is going to be a very competitive ride with our machines. As far as the people who toss on the 24's, to each their own I guess. It is an extemely capable off road machine regardless. They have been comparing them against our runners throughout the entire design process...peace all.

it is the new h3, i am sure that it will be based on the new colorado/canyon platform which means it will probably have an aisin tranny (for all the yota freaks, if they offer a manual version). it will also have a rear electric locker and some other neat gizmos. i won't knock it until i see it, i really like the new colorado trucks, they look just like a mini silverado.
as for the H2, yeah its kinda cheezy and its massive but for its size i am willing to bet its better off road than just about anything else. it has front and rear electric lockers and pretty good ground clearance and can fit 37's with hardly any lift.

Lee-
Hey, no worries about calling it an H1...you were the one that started this whole deal anyway
Just a little more info, even though I am sure you all know most of it. The H3T is going to come out before the H3 SUV. Both are on modified colorado/cheyenne platforms. The H3T has received a lot more publicity than the H3, but they are both going to be very solid rigs.
Like justinh said, the H2's are extremely capable off-road, esp. with a 4-6 inch suspension lift and larger tires. Dont get me wrong, they are huge, but still very capable. The H3 and H3T are both getting the inline 5 from the colorado's and it will be turbocharged to 350 hp...I'll keep ya'll posted...I have more info coming very soon.

The General is dead, they just haven't buried him yet. Hummers have a pretty face but no substance. Worse quality rating than the Koran companies. I think a Yugo had better quality. It will take them 4 production years to come close to working out any problems. Just the world as I see it. You can't beat a Yota, period. Also all the lifts and big tires look nice but the rigs that can and have gotten it done like the Mercedes G500 and the Landcruiser FZJ80 don't need them,(even though some LC's have them) .
