Question Engine Swap Question

Hey guys been checking out all your good ideas for a while but this is my first post. Sorry I dont have any pics but 6 months ago I bought a 1987 4runner out in california for 2200, high mileage but body is in good shape although I already scratched the paint pretty good hunting pigs in central cali. Anyway my question was about a 94 22re froma pu that I was looking at buying it was a manual tranny but only two wheel drive would this fit my 4x4 manual 22re. Any help would be appreciated And I look forward to chatting will all yall. Sorry about the pic things I know thats a big deal.

No problem, you should be able to swap blocks and heads if the 4Runner is also EFI. But the engine wiring, intake and ECU will be different.

How much do you think that would cost approx. if I had a shop do it. They are both efi but how difficult is the wiring stuff to do.

To save $ you'll want to leave the wiring in the 4Runner and reuse as many of the 4Runners parts like Dist., Fuel Injectors, Thottle body, etc. and the oil pan and oil pick-up tube will have to be swaped. A shop will probrally charge about $800 to $2000 depending on hours and parts( new belts, hoses, etc.).

i've heard the upper plenum(intake) off a truck like a '94 will give you better performance. not sure if it's a plug and go swap, or if you'll have to modify some wiring
