Elocker Troubleshooting
My locker has been out of commission since May, which really sucks nut. I cleaned the innards again, checked the fuses, opened up and bench tested the motor, and came to the conclusion that it was a bad ECU.
Finally ought another ECU this week. Installed it, and to my dismay, the diff lock light just flashes.
When I hit the switch, I can hear the ABS relay clicking with either ECU, so I assume that both are still functioning fine. I've done the grey wire mod, and I triple checked the ground so I don't think thats the issue.
Is there some wiring I should look at between the ECU and actuator? I've about had it with this piece of . I really want to keep the OEM setup, and if I don't figure it out soon, then I'll just get rid of the entire axle.

(Like I said in responding to you over at TTORA ...)
I suspect some fault with your grey wire mod wiring. The fact that you're getting the flashing 'no-no' light means the grey wire mod isn't working as it should.

I retro fitted an e-locker into my 91 (so comparisons with a factory one....) but after a year of issues with the electrics sometimes working and then not because the motor got corroded up, I put one of the downey cable locks on it. The cable lock works great, I have it mounted to the left of the drivers seat with minimum bending of the cable. I haven't had one bit of problem with it. You do sometimes have to wiggle the steering wheel a little to engage/disengage it but it always works.
