I have learned alot about my Toyota since joining Yotatech but I would like to know also about the EGR valve. Also see people talking about the knock sensor. What are these things? I mean my truck runs great so I doubt it's an issue. It also looked fine when I got it but I still changed alot of parts...hehehe

The EGR's sole purpose is to re-route exhaust gases into the intake stream to lower compustion tempature. The lower tempature will lower the NOx gas in the exhaust. You will loose power when the EGR valve is opened. Its not a performance item.
The Knock Sensor's purpose is to detect "Ping". This is always a 7k hertz range frequency and the sensor is designed to detect it. When It detects this frequency, the timing will retard.
Dont force me to bust out with anything more technical, or Ill open up a paypal account.
