E-Locker into 01 4Runner

Finally paid off the 4Runner. Now it's time for light mods. Has anyone retrofit an elocker into 2001 and up 4Runner? Mine has the push button multi-mode 4WD with center locking diff. I think the VSC and ABS are tied together. I'm not sure where the ABS sensors are on the rear(haven't really looked down there). Other than the ABS sensor, I think I can put in an elocker 3rd wired with relays. What do you guys think? I'm not sure if the 01 and 02 Limited 4Runners have elockers or not, but the SR5s did not.

Do a search, but I haven't seen that topic pop up.

In order to retrofit the <2000 e-locker rear you've have to install the e-locker computer & wiring harness as well and then integrate it into the existing 4x4 system. I know it can be done but for less money and hassle many folks here go with an air locker or similar system. Plus you also get the benefit of on-board air which is a benefit if you air down for wheeling.

I hope this helps and that others will chime in.

I'm trying to keep things simple. I know I can get the elocker to work with a switch and a couple of relays--so no need for the oem 4wd computer. I need to get my hands on the wiring diagram for my year 4runner and see how the ABS and VSC are tied together. So does anyone here have an 01 4Runner factory wiring diagram that they can scan for me?

You do not have to integrate the locker wiring, do you? When I did mine the inchworm kit that i bough was completely seperate from all the other wiring in the car.

Checkout Inchworm. They have a stand alone unit that will allow you to use the locker whenever you want, even in 2WD and there is no need for a factory ECU. This is the route I went, now I just gotta find time to get the new third retrofitted to my existing axle housing, then it's on to the wiring.
