DRL's on 1997 4runner
Well I was reading the tech atricles on this forum, and passed by one that showed you how to disengage that DRL's on 3rd gens. After tearing the whole drivers side panelling apart, I couldn't find the DRL relay. Anyone know where it is??? I can't seem to find the bloody thing. Its a Canadian model too so I don't know if that will make a difference or not. Thanks guys.

i looked hi and lo for anything that loosely resembled what has been described in the multitude of posts re: drl disabling techniques. unless they have hidden that little black box in the cdn runners, it aint anywhere near the battery! i would like the option of being able to turn off the headlights without having to shut off the truck and start it up again, at my discretion, ie: campsite, drive in theatre etc.
any cdn runner owners find this elusive black box yet?

Well finally got off my ass and checked for this "Black Box". On my 97, it's right beside the battery fastend to the fender well. All you have to do is pull the connector apart and your DRL's will be disabled. Here's a pic of the connector and box.

Your '93 doesn't have this. It is only in the early 3rd gens. On your '93 there is a black box in front of centerconsole below your ashtray. I managed to disable the driving lights when I had my '91 through there.
