So I find myself in a bit of a pickle here, and I need a bit of advice, here is the story.

The other day, two tracking, put a hole in one of my tires (the stock wrangler RTs's, take it in to get it patched, they say no its in a bad spot etc. It's been time for new tires now for a little while, so thats a good enough reason for me to bite the bullet and look at some new ones.

Fast forward to now, I complete my research, and I' going with the BFG AT's. Then the question of size comes up. I know I want the 285 75 16's (33's) But its looking like I won't have money for the lift required to run these tires for at least a week or two, if not longer. I know I can get the 265 75's, But as a friend said to me "you'll never look back and regret going bigger"

So what would fellow yotatechers do? Buy the 33's, and pull together lift funds ASAP, or get the 32's and get the lift whenever. (I have over half the lift funds in cash) Or something else?

As of now I'm in college, and don't really have a job, so pulling together funds is harder (aka I have to sell stuff) (Anyone want to buy a Yakima bike roof rack) (or sell me cheap OME stuff?)

Do you NEED tires right now, or could you go a couple of weeks without changing them out? Or run your spare for that tire and keep the bad as a spare.

Since your wanting to go bigger wait man. I got 32's when I needed tires because i knew i wasn't lifting for over a year, then I lifted ran around sold my 32's and got some 33's

If you don't mind cutting or beating you can fit 33's right now at stock height. Tub your firewall and trim the rear bumper and you can fit them easily.

go with the 32's and just get the lift next time you need tires. I say this for a few reasons.
1. You aparently need tires now
2. Your in college.
3. You have no job....

any where sell some used tires? maybe get some used mismatched 285's and buy your lift, since winter is over. (if not traveling much) and rock the black out on them with your stock wheels and spacers. save you from buying rims and tires and you could maybe get you a lift or piece one together. maybe check online if your buying new 285's, cause college towns are known for jacking up prices on stuff. (trust me I know) also I agree with crolison can you run your spare for a while? `also are you stuck on BFG AT's or is there something cheaper that will work for less? Oh, and if you get them on the internet then you dont have the tire shop adding on prices for valve stems, taxes, warranties, free rotations and all that crap. bottle jack and jack stands save the money for yourself. ok Soapbox over! lol..
