The rear diff is going out in my 4x2 1999 SR5. It currently has an open diff with 4.10 gears. I found a limited slip assembly with 4.10s out of a third gen in a salvage yard. Would this bolt right in to my 4runner?

if you mean a rear diff with a LOCKER then no it won't fit. If you want it to fit you need to do this: http://www.phorunner.com/e-locker.html

 

So all factory limited slip diffs for third gens are electric lockers?

yeah, its too bad toyota didnt put interchangablity into their design. Would make things so much easier and cheaper!
