Diff Drop Update!
I just wanted to let everyone know what I ran into today with my diff drop install. I bought Roger Brown's 1" diff drop, and installed it today to find a couple of different things from what I thought was the truth.
1) Lowering the differential requires longer bolts and flat washers to compensate for about 3/4"-7/8" drop of the skid plate.
2) If you want to go through hell (mainly because I didn't have the right tools), you can actually minimize the loss of ground clearance by about half if you take the skid plate off, and cut out the reinforced section that bumps up against the diff drop bolts.
I decided that after cutting the skid plate, I only lost about 1/2" in ground clearance. I don't know how folks are saying that no ground clearance is lost, but there is!
Just wanted to let everyone know!
