tried that and it didnt work very well. i extended it from the driver's side up to the dash. and another time, i extended it along the entire length of the vehicle and hooked it up to the diversity antenna...and even that didnt work very well!

Also, yesterday, I stopped at a grocery store to pick up a few things, and came out to unlock the car. As soon as I hit the unlock button, the alarm started going off. I couldn't shut it off. I pressed the unlock button, put the key in the door (locked and unlocked), started the car (which it did, by the way. Thought it had a starter disabling system?), and finally, I had to just pull the fuse to the horn. It was quite embarrassing. I got home and tried my other keyfob, and now it's working with no problems. What a POS.
Happends to me too!! I think its the "panic" function. If you hold the button down for a few seconds it will do that. Sometimes when trying to open/lock the truck and nothing happens, I look down at the red light. If its solid, I RUN LIKE CRAZY as far away as possible. That means that the panic function is about to go off.

If it does start honking, get away from the truck and press the top button a few times until the red light stops blinking. Once its stopped, get close (within range) and press it once. That should stop it. Took me a while to figure that one out. I once drove down the street with the horn still honking. hahaha

I think you guys must have a different system than i do. My brain unit is not under the seats, and i don't have a red led on my remote. Im planning on replacing this for a alarm/remote start unit this fall anyways.

For those interested in replacing the Piezo buzzer only (READ: cheap skates not willing to spend $$ on a new system ), I updated the thread Bob_98SR5 posted in this thread with some pics and info on where to get a new Piezo chirper for cheap.

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...ighlight=piezo

Many thanks to d0ubledown for the tip on where to get the chirper.
