Hi all,
I have installed a 6 inch deck plate for about $10 from a marine shop in San Dimas. It's tight but it works and was not too difficult. The sound will drown out most everything at WOT around 4500 RPM.
My 2WD automatic 97 gets about 19.7 MPG. Sometimes I'll get up to 20.8 MPG.

Sry to be off subject.

Flight engineer sounds pretty cool....Is launching rockets close enough?
Seriously, do you guys work in the air control tower?

Nope, I sit right between the pilots.. I control the overhead panel ( A/C, fuel, generators, ...) I watch the engines and also in flight most of the time the throttles are mine...I also calculate all the data..like take off distance and landing... best power setting for the mission and stuff like that. I am the systems expert on the C-130... Its the best enlisted job you can have..bar none. :drum: :rockband:

Hi guys:

I don't mean to rain on the deck plate idea because thats how I came up
w/ a modified version of it. Not finding a deck plate around Central Mass.
I have a 3" hole saw for my cordless drill, and I also have a round air box.
So w/ out taking the air box out, I drilled the 3" hole, vacced it out and
got a 3" rubber plug from Home Depot (the kind for plumbing-has a wingnut
and two metal plates) when in water or mud simply put it in the hole and tighten the wing nut. $4.00 and in any hardware store, almost forgot a small
chain or rope to fasten it under the hood so I wouldn't miss place it

hope this helps people that can't find or are even cheaper than a deck plate

Woody
