Debadged my 2nd Gen

I did this a few days ago out of the simple need of something to do. After some searching, I found that there wasn't much about it on YT, and nothing about it for 2nd gens.

Here are a couple photos:

The 'SR5', 'V6' and '4RUNNER' tags were stripped from under the rear lights.

The 'V6' tag was stripped from the grill. I never looked to see that is only held on there by one screw. I hated that tag, it threw the symetry of the front end off.

I used a blowdryer for the 1st emblem, but my impatience kicked in and I skipped it for the other 2. Scrapped all the crap off with my fingernails, then waxed and buffed the area. Can't even tell they were there now, even after 15 years.

I don't understand. Why would you want to do that? Is that a new thing now or what?
Great looking ride and I sure wish I lived where you do.! What tires do you have on there? Mike

My reasoning was that I always avoided waxing the tailgate, mainly because of all the badges. I like clean lines and flat panels.

Clutter drives me nuts!

They are the BFGoodrich Mud-Terrains. Great tires I have found.

Looks good... With the weight taken off, you should get better mileage now.

I also just noticed you can sort of see my fix for the prone rust spots near the base of the rear window. I have been meaning to do a writeup on it.

Grinding, primering, wet sanding, satin black finish in the form of a black strip right under the window following the lines of the black trim along all the edges. It flows nicely and gets rid of the ugly rust spots.

Yeah it kinda makes your vehicle look like it's been in an accident and had the tail gate repaired or replaced! COOL!

Looks good! Where did you get those tailights? Are they factory on that year? They look much better than the two collor style that is on my '93.
