timber,
i got mine from richard stubbs of stubbs welding up in susanville, ca (up north). of course, you'll have to incur the shipping charges but it wont be as much as you might think. I then got them welded at demello offroad...which is another place you can get sliders here locally.
i don't think roger brown has sliders for 4th gens. but i maybe wrong.

timber,
$50 to $100---depends on who does it. for me, i paid on the higher end b/c of the quality work that demello does and not to mention, i didn't want my stubb sliders to be jacked by a poor welding job.

Stubbs all the way! It only cost me like 40 bucks to get them shipped coast to coast as I live in SC and they're really nice and Richard is incredibly easy to deal with and will answer all of your questions.

timber, if you already haven't talked to Jason, I'd give him a buzz if possible. If not, drop by his shop and talk to him in person. The only problem is he's backed up on alot of projects right now though
But for sliders, I"m sure he'll be able to work something out with ya.

I'm hoping to find a shop in the San Gabriel area. It's hard for me to find time to drive down to OC (even on weekends). I know there has to be some shops in El Monte, Duarte, or Azusa. Hell even Baldwin Park or La Puente. Anyways, I know quality is also important, too.

there's not much for selection around so cal for 4runners sliders. but lucky for you, demello has a proven, quality product. i got mine there. plus he's already made some for 4th gens. bite the bullet, make the drive, and get some sliders from demello. you won't regret it.

ah thats right: timber, my office is in the el monte area and i called around a few places. some responses included "sliders? whats that?" and my favorite "que?"
and that led me to fear that if i didn't find a shop that knew what sliders are, what a pinch weld is, and how far from it, i'd probably get a hack job of a welding job.
thus as chuck says, drive down to demello's shop for both the sliders and the welding job or buy from stubbs and then get it welded at demello's.

Richard Stubbs is a great guy and does class work.
But...
I chose Jason DeMello. He has it together. He made mine custom (because the limited flares required a slightly different length) and welded them on too. I would highly reccommend his work to anyone. His work is top notch as you can see and he has more than one style. Plus, he looks a little like a slimmed down butter bean and has a great sense of humor.

Demello.
I got my sliders and rear bumper, front soon, from him and they kick ass. He welded them at his shop as well like the photos above.
The product is excellent and you're right "down the street".
