creative ideas welcome

I locked down an 86 xtra cab today with 200K miles, but rebuilt 22RE, 5 speed, 4.10's, skid plates everywhere, perfect interior, body very very solid and paint nice, only needs brakes... for $250. I'm wondering.. is SAS the way to go for this beast, or should I just be glad to get such a steal and throw an IFS lift on it and be happy? Any feedback with links or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

go with a solid axle. I see alot of people who put on ifs lifts and regret it in the 4x4 mags. Maybe even go crazy a coilover and 4 link it?

yeah, I did a little research this morning and now know that I am gonna go SAS. Just don't know if it will be a yota front axle or a narrowed 44. A 60 is overkill for me. Plus, I read somewhere that they make 35 spline 44 axle shafts! So, still open to creative ideas. And my tires are STILL for sale.

Go with a dana44 or a gm 10 or 12 bolt. They don't have birfields plus parts will be easier to find. Obviously new spring perches will need to be welded in. Have u thought about not narrowing a d44. U will be more stable on the trail with wider axles. Plus wider axles and tires look cool.

not a bad idea on the wide 44, I can get a 77 dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 with 60 rear/44 front for $350

the 77 dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 has a full time t-case. Is it a 203 or 208? Or neither?
