Hi guys and girls,
I am super new to this forum and have a question for you experts. I run a 02 taco 4x4 with the 5vzfe and been running with the infamous knock sensor harnes issue for a while. Finally got around to fixing it and removed the intake manifold today. While cleaning the intake surface on the head side i noticed this line in the coolent port. It is not cracked through to the orher side or over the surface. And it is on both heads and both lines look exactly the same. Attached are pictured of both heads.
my question is is this just a casting line/manufacturing imperfection or are these cracks starting to develop?
This is my first time working on a 5vz and thank you in advance for you you support and input. I believe i posted the question in the right section and if not please correct me for my rookie mistake.

Casting imperfections, the intakes are pretty ruff usually inside and out, I've ported a bunch of Mitsubishi's, you would be surprised of the crap left behind after production, Toyota seems to do a better job of cleaning them up before installation though I've found.

This is actually in the head where the intake mates it. But that makes sense. Thank you for the response. I kind of assumed this must be the case since both sides had it the same way. But wanted to get some confirmation for the peace of mind. Thanks again...
