Hi Ray! The best resource for knowledge during the build up would be to head over to the forums at www.yotatech.com. Its free and the guys are great. I dont have any specific 2nd gen (1995) knowledge. These guys do. I used to go on those forums every day, multiple times per day. Tell them I sent you when you sign up and make a post. I cant say enough good stuff about the people at that site. Any question you have regarding 1995 4Runner LTD, parts, accessories, modifications, maintenance, etc. They not only can but will help.
You will get multiple people giving you advise and ideas.
Good Luck.

Crocs in the Surf
Thanks for the welcome everyone!
surf4runner, I don't surf, but gotta lotta friends that do.
From Cali, Florida, Hawaii, so they must think it's not bad, and there have been some major surf contets in the papers the last yer, mostly on the Central Pacific area, near Jaco / Playa Hermosa.
One thing, remeber this is Paradise, but also Jungle.
I have seen myself when fishing in the surf. People ask about Sharks, but I've seen alligators and croks, and the surfers in the furthest break say they see some big ones running along the surf line between river mouths.
I swim and snorkel, and I'm going to do scuba, so i guess it doesn't bother me.
Hope that helps.
