I am thinking of making a kit that would convert the electric motor actuator to an air actuated system.

Would be watertight and you would need your own air source so some sort of onboard air whether that is a compressor/tank or a CO2 bottle.

If I could make a bolt in replacement ready to go and stay about $140, how many would be in the market for something like that?

Interesting....but what about making it really simple. How about a cable into the cab with a lever that manually moves the locking fork back and forth? Something like the throttle cables on lawn mowers but longer than the typical 5 feet.

I dont think that would be rigid enough and you would have to piece it together to get the length.

I looked at throttle cables for boats which would solve both those issues, at least they are in my opinion, but they are expensive!!

The air setup would be fairly cheap so long as you already had on-board air, which I know that most don't. But they should!! LOL

Just because you can doesn't mean you should

Not sure about everyone else, but I would much rather have an electric locker than an air locker.
Why, exactly, would you want to do this?

+1 on this sentiment. I think a cable actuated locker makes sense. OxLocker does that, but they don’t make one for the Toyota differentials. I wouldn’t want it for the rear but I’d definitely consider one for the front. It wouldn’t be used very much, but there are some times when it could be handy. Here’s the link for their cables. https://ox-usa.com/21-cables
