Code 14 : Ignition Signal Problem

I was able to check the codes in my truck the other day and it came up with an ignition signal problem.
Now....My truck has been having like "jolts" while idling. Almost like a misfire. The truck will just have a quick shake. Would this ignition signal problem cause something like that?
What would cause this code to come up?
Thanks for all your help!

Also....the truck is a 92' 3.0L Automatic.

Greetings,
The code 14 is Igf signal to ECU
Ignitor
Ign and/or Ign. coil circuit
Ecu
You're going to have to break out your multi-meter and to start check your wiring harness, mostly the neg. terminal from the coil to the ecu, also check for loose, frayed wires...! I would really check your coil and ignitor. Start there and let us know how you make out!

Good Luck!

My 4runner ( 94 ) has had the same idle problem and error code. I have just finished poking and proding any connector I could find on or near the ignition/coil/distributor.
I then reset the error code ( pulled EFI fuse ), went for a 5km drive and the idle problem appears to have been resolved and a further check on the error code showed all clear.
Worth a try anyway, didn't cost anything and only took 10min.

The signal generator inside the distributor is a likely candidate. The problem is that you can't buy just the signal generator. Test the leads coming off the distributor housing to see if they are in spec. I had the same prob as you and that was my fix. Good luck

2004 thread in the 96-2002 section for a 92 truck, I'm sure 805specr will get back to you.
