i have a 90 4 runner . when i was out wheeling yesterday i lost the clutch pedal . ichecked the fluid and it was bone dry .so i added fluid ,but still i have no clutch . i looked for leaks but couldn't find any .the reservoir seems to be holding the fluid. how do you bleed the system?

 

You can gravity bleed or (my personal favorite way to bleed) grab a mason jar and some hose that is about the same size as your bleeder valve. Put the hose on your bleeder valve and loosen it.... leave other end of the hose in the bottom of your mason jar.... keep your reservoir full and have someone pump the clutch until no more bubbles come out in the mason jar.... then tighten your bleeder valve up and your done... however... it doesn’t sound like you would be done ... that fluid must have gone somewhere to begin with ... I would look to find that problem first... also ... since your system has been opened up (and I'm not sure about this part) you may need to bench bleed your master cylinder again but you may be able to get away without doing that... if you find and replace the original fluid leak and begin to bleed and cannot get the fluid to come out the bottom of your system I would check up on bench bleeding your master cylinder.
