clicking brake

my left front brake on my 99 limited is clicking when i apply the brakes, no pulling stops nice and smooth any ideas guys ?

Yes, there are clips on the end of the brake pads that keep them centered in the bracket/pistons and also keep them in place. They provide some tension to it also so when they clamp onto a moving rotor the rotor's forces don't move the pad much. The clicking occurs because you've broken one of these clips and the pad the hitting up against the bracket it fits in. No big deal. Won't affect braking, just makes that clicking noise. Up to you if you want to replace it, it's pretty easy to do and inexpensive. Happened to me on the RX-8.
