Very nice job! Your 'Runner has a unique front end w/the scooped hood, the '99 grille, and the early model bumper. I like it, and it's not a combo I've seen done before.

I'm a big fan of the 80 series rims too. I looked high and low for a set before I finally got tired of waiting and picked up some procomp 8069's. Those wheels are the perfect "All Toyota" solution to getting 285's on the 'Runners.

That truck is also a testament to Toyota quality, looking that good @ 201k!

those LC wheels work on 285's without spacers?

Good looking truck btw. Welcome to the boards.

yeah thay work great without spacers i get minimal rubbing on the plastic at full turn and stuffed. i started with 16x8 pro comp 1069's with 4" bs and thay rubbed way more. plus i think the lc wheels look sharp

hmm, i like them too.. they look good on a 4runner. I might have to talk to my land cruiser buddies to try and find some for me.

That is a sweet rig! I love it. Besides the wheel/tire combo, it's pretty much an exact combination of my two rigs!

My current '99 on the left....and my old '96 on the right....

Combine these:

And you get:

The "gray wire mod" is actually a "blue" wire for the 3rd gen 4runner, but that's just a minor detail.

The result of the mod is that you can use your factory e-locker whenever you want. 2hi, 4hi or 4lo...and at whatever speed you want. Normally you can only engage it in 4lo at less than 5mph I believe.

actually its a blue/red wire for the 4runner's, its so i can use the locker anytime instead of only 4lo.@yotarunner and yeah sliders will come soon, id like to do the fathers day run at the rubicon this year. @quicksilver nice1 haha it is a mix mutt but all yota! its hard to tell but i painted all the cladding/flares black instead of the original charcoal. i also painted the grille n hood. (im a painter)

008keith, I thought the trim looked like it might be black! You do good work, the paint looks real nice. I am really diggin' your truck, I love the LC wheels with the lift and the newer updates to the older style.

the LC rims are by far the best looking rim for the 4runner IMO. i did however just put some new taco rims on mine (my uncle got new tires and rims on saturday and gave me his old ones). those are always an awesome steal on CL. heres a pic of the tacoma rims....

Good eye, I didn't notice that at first glance.

Nice truck!

So are you a girl or is that your GF? I just ask because it's rare to see chicks on here that lift their trucks and know what something like the "grey wire mod" is. Either way, welcome! You are (or she is) a cutie BTW!
