I was following my wife while she was driving my 2002 4runner today. I noticed that everytime she applied the brake, the cargo door brake light would blink on and off while she was stopping, and then when she was completely stopped it would reamain on.

Is this normal or did the previous owner tweak something?

question is, does it blink more raipidly the harder you press the brake pedal? that would be cool.

It does not. Blinks about as fast as a turn signal.

oh well...I don't even have a 3rd brake light...but if I did I'd want it's blinking speed to be relative to the pedal pressure

Except, with what I know of the human brain, there is likely an optimum speed for the blink, at which point it is most obvious to the way our eyes/brain are wired. I would want it to blink at a constant rate, that rate

Wow, I completely didn't know it did this. Would an older 4Runner, say a '98, do this?
