Can I disable the remote rear window in my 3rd Gen?

It happens surprisingly often that my rear window gets accidentally rolled down from the remote. This usually happens at home and I think the button gets pressed by accident when the keys are in my pocket or in my wife's purse. On at least 3 occasions the window has unintentionally been left open all night in the rain. Since I don't use this feature that often, does anyone know how I can disable it?

take it a part and put a tape over the circuit that triggers it? I've never taken mine apart but I'd assume this is a simple process?

On my 96 there is a rear window lock that prevents the window from going up and down with the switch...does your '01 still have that button?
