In-cab air filter??

I know some Toyotas have an "in-cab" air filter that filters the air going thru the vents, but does my '99 4Runner have this? If so, is it difficult to replace, and how do I do it?

Thanks!

Well then that's pretty funny because the dealer tried to sell me one at my 60k check! Scary.

That would not surprise me one bit!

Can anyone else confirm or deny for the 3rd gens?

Three screws/bolts if I remember correctly, took me about 2 minutes. Pretty sure there's a filter down there.

Real quick to take it out. The owner's manual should show location and how to remove if you have one.

Did anyone find out if the 3rd gens have a filter? If I don't hear back from anyone I will find out for myself. I am just curious what you guys found.

Here in Phoenix, I can't imagine what I am going to see on the filter - if I in fact have one.
