bushings

Arrow bushings

i am putting new shocks on my 94 pickup. i don't know a lot about this stuff, but i have seen those polyurethane bushings. do i need to get some of them? what exactly do they do? thanks for the help.

Your new shocks should come with new bushings. The poly bushings will last longer, but will sometimes squeak if you don't lubricate them good. I use dielectric grease mixed with powdered graphite to try and keep them from squeaking. Rubber bushings are generally softer than poly bushings which can be good and bad. Good for a softer, quieter ride, bad because they wear out faster.
