Corey, that looks great. I think I need to add some lights. I don't think I want those round ones, maybe some like you had before. Are they good ones? Did they help at all. I won't use them for offroading, just for when I back up, especially in the rain. Thanks for the info. :fireman:

They did not shine that far back at all.

Well, this will get me more inclined then to get my new custom rear bumper fabbed up.

I think I am going to go with the tube model he has (All Pro style) but it will have some sides tacked in to hide the body on the sides.
Should be an interesting project.

The one on his wife's Taco looks killer.

Ok, thanks Corey, I won't waste my money getting them. I will have to see what I can come up with. I am thinking of just getting some curb lights. Some that just point down around the rear wheel so I can see curbs, etc. We'll see what I can come up with. :fireman:

 

I wouldn't recommend mounting them inside like I did, too much glare on the inside. That's why I moved them to the roof rack.

By the way, lights work much better mounted high, so my little 55w fog lights work great. They light up everything back there.

If you don't want to mount them to the rack, or you don't have a rack, then you can always fab up a mount like I did for my antenna.


I made this with simple hand tools in my apartment's parking lot. My little 300watt inverter came in handy for the dremel. If you don't want to drill into the sheetmetal like I did, then there were a couple pre-existing bolts in the bumper you can mount to.

I actually cut High intensity Fog lamps into my bumper beacuse they just get knocked off when they hang low. You can get some spot/driving lamps from Ring (Microline Rectangular) that could be fitted in the same way.

I'll dig out some pictures to show what I did, looks good and they are well protected. Only problem is plucking up the courage to take an angle grinder to the bumper.

That is a pretty good idea, I never really thought about doing that. Since some vehicles have the back up lites there, it would be almost stock. All you have to do then is hook them up the backup lights so that they all go on when you back up. Very cool idea. I will have to look into that to see what I can come up with.
