I just installed a new rotor and its the same size as the old one just a little less worn out so its a little wider.

My old brake pads fit the rotor but my new ceramic brake pads wont fit at all.

The pistons wont go in to make more space someone help me.

i just recently did my brakes too. I had to remove the caliper completely and manually compress the pistons to fit the new pads in. i had to use a c-clamp, hammer and solid steel rod(my brakes looked like they had never been changed).

 

It's one of two things...

Either you have the wrong parts or you are not using enough effort to push the piston back into the caliper.

Since we can't see what you are looking at, you are going to have to decide which it is and rectify the situation.

 

I bet your not pushing the pistons in far enough.

use an old brake pad, put it against the installed one and use either a c-clamp or something and push them in there. Use a turkey baster to suck out some brake fluid in your master cylinder so it dont go spurting out everywheres.

 

yeah i figured it out. the pistons took some time to push back but i used a plastic c clamp that you can hand tighten and they went in easily.

I did have to take the capilars out completely and now im just about ready to flush the entire system.

 

Also, sometimes the pucks and/or the slide pins get a ring of rust on them too. Makes them very hard to push back and rusty pucks can mess up the seal too.
