So I was going to order the extended braided brake lines from All-pro last week. I should have.

My drivers side brake line (the metal one that connects to the caliper) snapped today while turning.

I got a new line on there, it was $5 from the auto parts store.

MY QUESTION: I dont have a friend to bleed the brakes with right now, and I need to go to work. I can still drive it w/o bleeding right? I drove it around the block and i can stop alright, its just not as tight.

Just want to make sure that the air in the system wont ลลลล anything else up.

It's unlikely that it will get worse than it is now, but you REALLY should bleed them before driving! Even if you don't mind having an accident, the other guy might not appreciate it..

 

Yes, I had to do this when the exact same thing happened to me a week ago. I had a friend helping, but I had another issue keeping air in the lines. Be careful, and increase your stopping distances.

Or... get a 2x4 and wedge it between the brake pedal and the front of the seat so as to hold the pedal down while you close the bleeder valve.
