is this part of the evap system? mine sometimes will buzz at constant intervals after the truck has been shut off for awhile.

The ticking sound is the evap system, yes. It doesn't mean anything, no

Short of wrapping some sort of insulation around the charcoal canister, the sound is pretty much there to stay. I haven't heard it on mine, but a lot of other folks have come asking about it.

 

Yeah I have the same "problem". Ive heard that Toyota will fix it for you if you want for free or cheap. But, I've never actually verified this.

 

whats the fix? and is the cound something electrical like a capacitor, or is it just vaccum in there or what?

Mi 89 dose the same. but.. when i open the gas tank it stops. there is also alota presure in my tank is that bad?

 

you should get a new gas cap, normally the cap contains the vent.
