Body lift only?

I've just purchased a 3rd gen 4runner, would like to install 32 or 33 inch tires.

But realistically I will be using the vehicle more to access poorly maintained forestry roads and splash in some mud occasionally. Rather than any intense articulation.

would a 2 inch body lift be enough to squeeze in bigger tires?

You can fit 265/75r16 stock and you don't need a lift for that.

edit: how redundant was that statement?!

32's will fit with no body lift.

33's start to run into issues, not all of which would be solved by a body lift. Depending on the actual tires, of course, but clearance vs. the front upper control arm might be an issue, unless you're talking pizza cutters.
