Best price for TRD Supercharger, and is it worth it?

I did the deckplate mod, and now I am hungry for power. Where is the best place to get thr TRD one, price wise? Is it absolutely necessary to install a transmission cooler? I only need this to gun it once in a while, not to tow or offroad.

Is the SC worth it?????

Do the $7 ISR mod first, that will sustain your appetite for a while longer during your research.

I have the tranny cooler and covered the deck plate since you won't need it with the s/c unless you do fuel mods.

The tranny cooler is cheap insurance.

The ISR mod seems too difficult...I was able to do the deckplate mod myself, but getting the pipe and bending it etc seems like too much....

Absolutely worth it, but I'd also do the tranny cooler, most people who don't, buy transmissions at some point.

Plamar,

Just use the cheap route that most of us use- buy about 8 bucks worth of plumbing end caps of the right size and you're done. Not as pretty as a straight pipe, but you'll still get the same effect.

Muffler shop

If you go to any decent muffler shop (try one with at least 5 garages) they'll have 2.5" exhaust tips on hand. They should have an expander too. All I did was show them what I was doing and they had he first fit pipe out in 2 minutes. Had to expand it 2 more times to get a nice and snug fit. I went to an industrial powder coating place and got it powder coated for free. Total cost: $15 for the exhaust tip. Not that much of a hassle. My biggest problem was finding a place that would powder coat. I'd say the s/c is worth it. Go for it. Find one online or if you know somebody like me that gets a 25% discount on all Toyota parts and labor, get it through him/her!

Well I meant if you KNOW someone, like I do. Shoulda been more clear on that one. I don't get the discounts, the guy I know does. He's a Landcruiser nut, and has a huge car collection. I wish it was me... hehe

It's the best mod so far. How does 50 HP and 53 TQ at the wheels sound? For a tranny cooler just buy a B&M and make a couple of brackets. The TRD cooler is way over priced. I bought my supercharger online for $1999 back in March. I don't remember the site, but I think it was a Toyota dealer in San Diego.
