Best Mileage?

Hello,

I was just curious to see what everybody's best mileage (in their 4Runner) has been. I just went down to the Outer Banks, NC from the Philly area and got around 25 mpg. I got down there on 3/4 of a tank. I thought that that was great--especially since I just came back to a 4Runner from a crappy Dodge Durango (13-15mpg!!). Anyway, like I said, I was just curious to see how out of the norm this is.

Regards,

Brady

Do you think that the Amsoil air filter helps with mileage as well? I currently have the paper filter and am considering getting the Amsoil. I love that my 4Runner is the only vehicle that I've ever had that far exceeds the window sticker mileages.

I do not feel any difference after installing the amzoil air filter. I am sure it does help since it is a less restricted filter. And a lot of people get good result on the deck plate mod. You might wanna look into that too. I am planning to do the deckplate mod soon. Now the funny thing is I get better mpg with higher octane fuel.

I get pretty good gas mileage with my Tacoma.. I don't think its quite 25mpg, but its not TOO bad. My mpg increased noticeabley with the install of my K&N fipk, and with the Supercharger and fuel upgrades I really didnt notice any differences in mpg.

I've been looking into the deck plate mod off and on for the last 4 or 5 months. I'm sure that I will end up doing it---I've just been really, really busy as of late.

25 MPG is not bad!

When mine was stock (only lasted for a month), the best I got was 22.7. The trip meter had 379.5 miles and used 16.7 gallons.

I average about 20-21 mpg around the county and 22, MAYBE 23 on the highway. The deckplate mod and the Amsoil filter had little to no affect on my gas mileage.

That's what I thought, too. I broke 400 (like 408 or something) when I got down to Kill Devil Hills. I was pretty psyched. I ended up putting in a little over 16 gallons when I filled up.

my last tank was 15.7 g to 311 miles or about 20mpg, the best I had in a long time (had a leaking tire though for a few weeks). But I also managed to get 18.9 gallons into the tank 2weeks earlier, I don't know whether I should get the gas gauge checked or not.
400 to a tank! I never saw that. I did once get 24mpg on a trip back from Yosemite.

This is about the same as what I get. I do about 19 mpg when I am mostly doing city driving.

Wow, I've never broken 19mpg. Most of the time, it is 16mpg.

did you remember to correct for the larger tire size? i'd bet you're still pretty close to the same milage.

BEST with current config was about 21mpg (about 350 miles)...cool weather, downhill, 70mph. Recently I got 279 ACTUAL miles on one tank (16.8 gal), I was STOKED! Usually can't go over 250 miles/tank.
