currently running off of my battery, i have my winch, a pair of hella 500 lights, a cb, and an amp powering my 2 12s. should i add another battery to help support the load? or could i get away with this and maybe add another set of lights for my roof rack?

 

Your best bet would be to get a high output alternator.
That way it can keep up with the load drains on your battery.
I know Toyota used a 100amp alt. in their MR2's, but I don't know if they are a bolt in application.
Or, you could get one from readywelder and be ready for some on board welding

BTW, the 2nd gen is not listed on their site, hence the email.

 

I'd first measure the voltage at the battery with the truck warmed up and running. (it should read around 13.8v) Then go and turn everything on and if you can, the winch too. If the voltage drops below 12.5, get the new alt.

HOWEVER, when you get the new alt upgrade ALL of hte wires to 4ga from the alt to the battery, chassis, and block. Then upgrade the battery's grounds to the chassis, block, and frame. This is every bit as critical to the electrical system as the fuel mods are to the S/C....

Good point on the wire size.
Just doing that will help with any grounding/engine noise (in stereo) issues.
