Battery light at idle

Good morning all!

2000 4Runner 3.4

Over the last few days my battery light has been coming on intermittently at idle. When I bump up the RPMs it goes off.
I replaced the Alt about a year ago with a generic auto store one. I checked the voltage at idle last weekend at it was 14.1.
Battery is about a year old also. Also checked to make sure all the connections were tight.

I guess I'll probably need to pull the alt and have it checked. It's probably still under warranty.

Anything else I should be looking at besides the battery or the alt?

Thanks in advance.

That issue sounds like its the battery and/or Alternator. Same thing happened to me some years back. When I would accelerate, the light would go off, at idle the light would come on, lights would be dim & my 4runner would almost stall.

If you go to autozone or Oriely's, there tester can check both the battery and alternator.

Red face

Sounds to me your belt might be loose or stretched a little .

Might want to try that first before pulling things apart
