Miller, all BajaRack roof racks are made with carbon steel tubing (usually 1/2" and 1") and are extremely durable. (check out FJ and IH8Mud forums for more). Only the wind deflectors are aluminum.

Hope that helps.

DMoney,

The mounts are included with the BajaRack 4Runner rack.

Ok so they sell a extension? Interesting.

Buy directly from Baja Rack?

Ya I want the mounts that fit right into the runners on the top of the roof, not on the cross bars

ALso are they aluminum or steel?
SC4Runner,

Just a quick clarification - BajaRack doesn't sell/make an 'extension', but we do sell/make an Extended rack. Chaplain has a MegaMule with modifications.(The MegaMule is longer, 64", than the Gen 3 rack, 60". However, the Gen 4 rack is 74" long)

If you like, give us a call and we can modify the MegaMule so that you can mount it on the 4R rails.

Best Regards,

Well, I called Baja Rack today and they will be making me a full length (84") 3rd gen 4runner specific rack. I'll let you know how it turns out in about three weeks when it gets here. It will have front supports but they don't think at this time they will need to be screwed in.

Hi Hammer,

The weight capacity of the 4Runner roof is 300 lbs. The Bajarack can carry much more than that.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have further questions.
