Axle Wrap

My truck has some pretty nasty axle wrap these days. It's the original stock springs on a 91 with 115k on it. The butt is a little saggy so I was going to do an add a leaf to raise the rear up a little bit and I was told that it would also help with my axle wrap. The springs are pretty much resting on the overload leaves so it deffinatley needs some help back there. I think the PO towed with it alot. I don't want to buy new springs either. Will the add a leaf work to correct, or at least lessen these problems?

Yes, an add a leaf should help some. I have some pics of my experience with adding leafs. http://community.webshots.com/album/191135149WHNAHa There is a short description on the right side of the pics.

I have to say that was quite useful goat, because I'll be adding a leaf to my 04 tacoma in the near future. I'm not really a noob to trucks (owned 4 over the years), but I am a noob to suspension work.

Mine rides a little stiffer, but sits level and handles weight very well. I took mine out, had them re-arched, and leafs added at a spring shop.
