Try Marlin Crawler, he has close ties with ARB.

I've tried him before, and quoted me $1,400 for a COMPLETE THIRD MEMBER with gears and locker installed...

Okay... finally got the details -
$540 + shipping gets me a complete 3rd member with everything already installed. I'll have to bolt it up and send him MY clean 3rd member.

So I'll have to pay shipping from AND to where this guy is.

What do you guys think?

peter,

depends on how reliable you think this guy's stuff is. also depends on how much the shipping is too.

check:
- forward air
- greyhound

for shipping quotes.

I think you might want to ask what type of locker they are going to use.

Well, the title of the thread says "ARB LOCKER"...........

Seems awefully cheap for a complete third with an ARB LOCKER.

Just too good to be true.

Considering the lowest price I could ever find for just the locker was 625-650.

I would be leary.

$80 for shipping
I think his problem in unloading it (originally had it posted for $625) is the fact that the gear ratio is 3.93. And don't forget he wants to trade with mine. His last e-mail mentioned something about having to drill a hole for the air line to go through.

He's currently looking for alternative shipping methods.

My ratio is 3.91 - will it make that big of a difference?

$1400 for a regeared and locked third is not outrageous.

Mine was $1150 with a $250 core.

If you are getting an assembled, locked and geared with any ratio at all third member, that price is beyond amazing.

You seem to be getting the third with gears and housing for less than I have ever seen just the locker.

A locked third weighs about 70 pounds and cost me about $70 to ship from Wisconsin to Southern California.

Most deals that seem too good to be true...

If I remember correctly - he'd planned on keeping it but found an 81 or something like that to keep for trail only.

If this statement was in regards to mine about the price MARLIN quoted, then I don't recall ever labeling it as "outrageous."

Where did you get this from??
