ARB Fog Light addition

Spent my day off making a little addition to the ARB. Since removing the limited bumper and associated fog lights I've missed that close up light on the road. I also don't like having a useless switch on my steering column.

I welded up some bolt-on brackets that would hold two rectangular lights. These fit in the openings reserved for hi-lift jacking and the winch clutch.

I originally planned to go with Hella FF75 fogs, but at $100 I didn't see it as worth the investment.

The affordable solution:
55w Pilot Driving Lights (PL-2055C) - $19.99 @ AutoZone

I used these on my last taco as reverse lights and found them to be a great value and perfect fit for the all-pro rear bumper. I tapped into the factory fog light wiring harness to utilize the OEM twist switch. Stock fogs are also 55w, so no need to worry about melting wires or fire hazard.

Dang, I need to put some fogs on my ARB, but I want to keep my driving lights on. What you did looks perfect, but my winch gearbox lever is there... Sweet idea though, how bright is the light?

not to be a buzzkill or anything...the lights look great but im pretty sure they designed those openings on the ARB to direct wind up into the radiator. blocking that might not allow enough air into your radiator, especially with those big Hella's blocking the grille

No they provide access to the winch gearbox lever for freespooling.

I can move them lower if I want to avoid the overhang. If anything it makes for a cutoff projector style . There is more visible light off to the sides, not too much of a difference out front. Then again the main beams are hitting the ground right now. I'll have to post up some night pics when I get them aimed correctly.

I can see how the holes might help with airflow, but with the winch opening still open as well as the grill, i'm not too concerned about temperatures.

I'll have to reassess the design if I ever get around to mounting a winch.
