I have a Xtra Cab Tacoma, but it would be nice to have a little extra storage space. I would consider a standard toolbox, but it will be in the way when I need to carry my canoe.

I was thinking about the toolboxes that mount on the side of the bed-maybe one for each side of the bed. I'm not sure how well this will work on a small truck or if the bed can adequately support them. Anyone have experience with this type of toolbox?

Extra tip, Use a heavy duty Velcro to hold them down for easy removal. Just be sure to use a chain lock if ya keep anything of value in there

I would really like to get one, but I am wondering if putting one on will be nothing more than an inivitation for thieves. I'll have to think about it a while.

 

The box is lockable and i'm sure there is a way to bolt it down from inside. the box
