yea, it's ridiculously loud, even not turned up all the way. if i lower/drop the high pass filter it sounds like i have subs in my doors. adding an external crossover soon so i can have better control of the roll off slopes.

lol. subs will be here next week

lol, kinda hoping it won't get to that...kinda hoping it will xD

oh ya, i threw my mids on termlab for ˟˟˟˟s n giggles. just picked a random song. no hpf, been playing down to 20 hz. yes these are midbass drivers, not subs lol. sounds a lot better with hpf on when cranked but i need my lowwwsss. i'll start throwing more power at em when i get the subs in and turn the hpf back on.

I just put some 6.5" Kicker KS600's in all of the doors. Not a true bolt in, but easy enough.

These speakers are marked as 6" but at Crutchfield they're listed as 6.5". I got the buy one set and get one set free dealio. Good deal for the sound improvement.

They supplied a thin spacer/adapter kit for two speakers. I used that for the rear doors. They clear the rear windows very nicely. The speakers also come with a plastic piece around them that'll hold the Kicker grill on if you were to use them. I left that part in place on the speakers for the little extra spacing, but my speakers are behind the door panels and look stock.

For the front doors, I cut the mounting bracket off of the old speakers, as someone else did here I read somewhere. I then flipped that part over, so the flat side is out and used it to mount the new speakers to.

Nice and easy.

Lol sure can. Not loud enough to really rattle stuff yet on such low pwer tho.

As for why. I really enjoy loud music lol. Ill admit, Its a strange hobby and most ppl don't get why ppl. I don't really do much with the 4runner anyways.if I really need to haul stuff I have a 95 t100 parked in the garage

haha ok well to each their own I guess Ive just always wondered what the appeal was to pretty much destroy a car and load it up with speakers but I guess if you like loud music there really arnt many options, and my mom used to tell me I was gonna blow out my eardrums with my headphones, I usually enjoy my music on about 1/4 volume on the stock system. I might go crazy and install 4 speakers and a HU some day though lol

I am going to go for the smallest system on here. I just finished up this JL 6" box enclosure by sound deadening and fiberglass reinforcing the existing cargo compartment. It is run by a soundstream mono amp
It works pretty good however lacks the bass of larger drivers.
It was a fun little project.

^ that got to be the smallest sub system in this thread lol Look clean tho.

irpirate, where is the port? Those 4 18's looks sweet. Definitely need more power!! then that would start to break stuff interior real fast! possibly crack windshield???

nevermind, look at your video on youtube, 6th order.

no pics but
Pioneer head unit
I do believe the door speakers are some cheap meijer brand called boss? only have door speakers in the front doors.
Audiopipe 12s with a Dual 600watt amp
back doors are empty but sitting next to the box in the back i have 4 speakers from a 5.1 dolby surround sound system wired in to replace the back door speakers. Very ghetto but it sounds great.
